Calcutta Avant Garde is a not-for-profit organization working in India for over 23 years, focusing on alleviating poverty, illiteracy and social injustice. We do this through well planned and comprehensive projects in health, education, women empowerment, child rights, old age care and cultural programme. Our overall goal is the empowerment of women, child and girl child from poor and marginalised communities leading to improvement in their lives and livelihoods.

WHY CHILDREN, WOMEN AND OLD AGE PEOPLE?
Calcutta Avant Garde focuses on the development of the child, establish their rights, empowerment of women and girls because they are disproportionately affected by poverty and discrimination; and suffer abuse and violations in the realisation of their rights, entitlements and access and control over resources. The old age people who have no one to look after them or those who have been thrown out of their homes by their next generation……
